MultiDoc Converter Classic

MultiDoc Converter Classic (v1.x) is the original version of MultiDoc Converter, released in 2017.

It remains available for users who specifically need the older application, i.e. due to their hardware requirements, or want to continue using an existing Classic installation.

MultiDoc Converter Classic has not received updated document conversion libraries since 2017.

Because document formats and conversion libraries have evolved since then, the Classic version can produce more formatting differences or conversion inconsistencies than the current MultiDoc Offline Converter.

For the best conversion quality​

For new installations and for users who want the best available conversion quality, we recommend MultiDoc Offline Converter (v2.x).

The current version uses newer document processing libraries and is actively designed for modern Windows systems.

There is one installer for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows systems.

The application includes both English and German user interfaces.

MultiDoc Converter Classic is provided as a legacy download.

If you are not specifically dependent on the Classic version, we recommend using MultiDoc Offline Converter instead.

Installation​

MultiDoc Converter Classic is distributed as a ClickOnce application.

It requires .NET Framework 4.5.2.

On Windows versions where the required .NET Framework is not already installed, the setup program may offer to install it automatically. It can also be installed through Windows Update where available.

Original system requirements​

MultiDoc Converter Classic was designed for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of:

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 8.x
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Vista

These requirements reflect the environment for which the application was originally released in 2017.

Compatibility with newer Windows versions is not guaranteed.

Classic or current version?​

Use MultiDoc Converter Classic if you specifically need the older 2017 application.

Use MultiDoc Offline Converter if you want:

  • newer document conversion libraries
  • better conversion quality
  • fewer formatting inconsistencies
  • support for modern Windows environments
  • fully local document conversion
